In the morning we wake up and the amazing male brain comes to life. Brain’s first duty is to tell the hand to put itself down into the boxer shorts/briefs and scratch around while simultaneously checking for morning wood.

Thoughts soon turn to what time is it, double checking what day it is and subsequently do we have work today or can I have a lie in? A quick lie in anyway is usually decided upon followed by a quick daydream in which we’re a gladiator/footballer/rock star/general hotty and ladies’ man.

Food becomes the next priority. What type of food to be eaten is calculated by the following formula: hunger % effort involved in preparation x will girlfriend/wife/gay partner make it? – time till work. Generally a full Irish breakfast will be the option of choice if significant other will make it. If not, a cold slice of toast or fig-roll will do.

Once out of the door the male brain needs to switch to “Driving Mode”. In this mode the male believes that their car is an extension of their body, they are the king of the road and any policemen checking speed are the devil. The male brain also thinks that the man is god’s gift to women and hates to be tied down by one person as it’s unfair to all the other women that want sex with him.

When it comes to sex the males gratification is paramount. Female gratification, real or faked, is a secondary concern. Quite often the male brain will transform the female partner into Kirsty Gallacher or some other celebrity. Failure to do so may be catastrophic. Post-coital cuddling is accepted but unwanted. Thoughts usually turn to what the next meal will consist of followed by “I really need to pee”.
